Spar head of retail Ian Taylor tackled the difficult question of what convenience store customer want, and how that shapes store design, during his conference session at Retail Design Expo.

“What does the customer want from a convenience store? Not surprisingly, they want everything,” he told conference delegates. “They want convenience, whether that is car parking or opening hours; they want value for money, that’s very important. And local products are now playing an ever increasing part in our store design and layout.”
